We also have Blue Point oysters available whole for you to open (or "shuck") at home. Shucking oysters can be challenging and it does take some care to ensure that you do not hurt yourself. Remember, use an oyster knife (never a regular knife!) and be sure to protect your hand with a thick dish towel. The video below is helpful in demonstrating the proper form.


Our fresh, domestic Blue Point oysters come from the east coast. We shuck (open) them to-order and present them on the half shell over a bed of rock salt to keep them in place. Most people garnish them with lemon wedges, hot sauce, cocktail sauce, or a touch of fresh horseradish. These oysters are available as PARTY TRAY #15, though it is more economical to order them a la carte.

These are pre-shucked oysters, so you only recieve the meat of the oyster (no shell). Select oysters are most popularly used for frying, baking, soups, stews, stuffings, and other recipes.
